Teacher Helping Student

A Survivor-Centered, Professional Model

At Magdalena’s Daughters, education is a form of prevention. We believe the most effective training brings together lived experience and professional expertise. Our model intentionally integrates survivor leadership with clinical and systems-level knowledge to ensure content is both impactful and responsible.

Survivors who participate as facilitators do so voluntarily, are compensated for their expertise, and are supported by licensed professionals to ensure ethical, trauma-informed engagement. This structure protects facilitators while ensuring audiences receive accurate, meaningful, and actionable education.

RAISE: The Antidote to Human Trafficking

RAISE: The Antidote to Human Trafficking is an evidence-informed, prevention-focused curriculum developed to educate youth, caregivers, educators, and professionals about the realities of human trafficking and how to reduce risk.

The curriculum addresses:

  • What human trafficking is and what it is not

  • Risk factors and vulnerabilities

  • Modern recruitment tactics, including technology-based exploitation

  • Indicators of trafficking and exploitation

  • Mental health and trauma impacts

  • Protective factors and prevention strategies

  • Legal considerations and consequences

  • Safety planning and help-seeking strategies

RAISE trainings are interactive, age-appropriate, and tailored to the audience. Content is delivered by a multidisciplinary facilitation team that centers survivor voice while grounding learning in clinical and educational best practices.
